Wednesday, May 7
After the long, frigid, hardship-inducing winter Vermonters have just gone through, with fuel prices going through the roof, Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA) welcomes the coming of spring with its Annual Celebration on Monday, May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion Chester Post #67 in Chester. The event is part of National Community Action Month, celebrated each May, and will spotlight the agency's efforts to help residents of Windham and Windsor counties overcome and lift themselves out of poverty.
This commemoration recognizes the significant impact Community Action Agencies such as SEVCA make everyday fighting poverty in local communities.
Anyone interested in attending the Annual Celebration or finding out more about it may call (800) 464-9951 or email: lbrooks@sevca.org.
