Tamara Mount named Head of School at Hilltop Montessori

BRATTLEBORO - Hilltop Montessori School announced the appointment of Tamara Mount as its next Head of School, effective July 1. Mount is a life-long Montessorian and is passionate and knowledgeable about the philosophy, values and practice at the core of the school and has 10 years in the management consulting field,

The Search Committee, working with consultant Jim Bonney of Educators’ Collaborative, began the process last June and sought feedback from the community and meetings with staff, board and faculty.

Mount is the daughter of a Montessori Head of School, attended Montessori school and has her Montessori Elementary Certification from Princeton Center Teacher Education. She has been an educator for the past 15 years. She is currently working at Cherry Blossom Montessori School in Hillsborough, N.J., where she has been a toddler teacher and lead teacher over the past seven years.

Thin Crust Pizzeria adds
gluten-free offerings

BRATTLEBORO -- Thin Crust Pizzeria has announced menu additions and new hours. Thin Crust Pizza, a New York City-style pizzeria, located in the Hannaford Plaza on Putney Road, will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed on Tuesdays.

The menu has expanded to include gluten-free pizza, as well as specialty pizzas not seen anywhere else. In addition to its New York-style pizza, calzones and grinders of all types, it is now offering an "All-U-Can-Eat" Wednesday pasta night from 4 p.m. to close.

Thin Crust Pizzeria uses only fresh, and mostly local, ingredients. They invite people to stop in for a free slice of their pizza.

Chroma names new CFO

BELLOWS FALLS -- The Board of Directors of Chroma Technology recently announced the addition of Newell Lessell as Chief Financial Officer. Formerly of the ICA Group in Brookline, Mass,, Newell brings a background in economic development and a commitment to employee ownership, along with experience as a consultant to Chroma. He has degrees from Amherst College and Yale School of Management.

Stylists join Scissor Masters

BRATTLEBORO -- Scissor Masters announced the addition of two new stylists, Amy Cowell and Kalea Shippee.

Cowell, formerly of Shear Designs offers customized cutting, coloring, manicures and pedicures and is in the shop Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shippee, formerly of Shear Designs, offers customized cutting and coloring, waxing and more and is in the shop Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

welcomes new employee

DUMMERSTON -- Turner & Renaud, Inc. announces the addition of Eric Tobey to its crew of experienced tree service professionals. While at Paul Smith’s College -- The College of the Adirondacks, Tobey received his bachelor’s of science degree in utility vegetation management and his associate’s of science degree in arboriculture and landscape management. He also worked three summer internships at Turner & Renaud. He is a 2008 graduate of Green Mountain Union High School. A lifelong resident of the Chester and Grafton areas, Tobey’s interest in trees and landscape management developed while growing up sugaring at the Plummer’s Sugar House. He resides in Grafton.
