In Bellows Falls...

SANTA ARRIVES: The Bellows Falls Community Christmas will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Bellows Falls Opera House. The movie will to be shown will be Dr. Seuss’ "The Lorax." Admission is sponsored by the Bellows Falls Rotary Club. Santa will arrive at 3:45 p.m.

The Bellows Falls Woman’s Club and Emblem Club will be providing cookies and punch in the Lower Theatre Room following Santa’s arrival. Bring cameras to take pictures of your child with Santa. The event is presented with the support of the town of Rockingham, the Bellows Falls Opera House, Chief Weston, Bellows Falls Fire Dept., the Village Printers, Cota & Cota and Mr. G’s.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE: The Friends of the Rockingham Library will host a holiday open house at the Rockingham Library on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. There will be light refreshments and will feature origami artwork made by children.

The Friends of the Rockingham Library is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and enhance library resources, programs, funding, and volunteers.

Coinciding with this event will be a raffle drawing for two tickets to Roots on the River, a Panasonic Lumix digital camera, and gift certificates to local businesses. There is still time to purchase raffle tickets at the Rockingham Library at 65 Westminster St. in Bellows Falls. Winners do not need to be present.

In Brattleboro...

KIDS’ CRAFTS: The Annual Kids’ Craft Fair will take place during Gallery Walk on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden, 157 Main Street. This is a fun and festive community event. This event is sponsored by Oak Meadow and Vermont Wilderness School.

SANTA AT KidsPLAYce: Santa Claus will be taking a break from his busy holiday schedule to visit with children at KidsPLAYce on Friday, Dec. 7, during Gallery Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. Children will have a chance to chat with Santa, sit on his lap and have their picture taken with him.

Admission is free, and it will be free for children to sit on Santa’s lap and chat with him. Hot cocoa and holiday baked treats will be sold. Photos with Santa will be available for $10. This fundraising event will help cover KidsPLAYce’s basic operating costs.

Volunteers are needed for this event, they are in need of Santa’s elves and decoration makers. Donations of one-serving baked goods are needed as well.

KidsPLAYce is located on 20 Elliot St. in downtown Brattleboro, downstairs under Hotel Pharmacy.
