In Brattleboro...

BCTV BOARD: The Board of Directors of Brattleboro Community Television, Inc. will hold its monthly board meeting in Hanna Cosman Room of the Municipal Center at 230 Main St. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.

HOLIDAY CONCERT: The 22nd annual American Legion Band Holiday Concert, co-directed by Bruce Corwin and Raymond Brown, will be presented on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m., at the Legion on Linden Street.

Prior to the band performing the evening’s last piece, Leroy Anderson’s "Sleigh Ride," the audience will join in a good old-fashioned Christmas sing-along.

There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

AUTISM SUPPORT: The Autism Support Group that had been meeting the third Thursday of each month at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital will be taking the winter months off. It will be starting up again in the spring.

In Dummerston...

CALENDARS AND T-SHIRTS: The 2013 Scenes of Dummerston Calendar featuring color photographs by 11 talented photographers is now available. The calendar contains scenes from East Dummerston to the West River.

Also available is the new black, short-sleeved Dummerston T-shirts with a graphic of the West Dummerston Covered Bridge. The writing on the shirt says "Dummerston ... the longest one in Vermont."

In GraftonĊ 

BIRDS AT MUSEUM: The Nature Museum at Grafton will present "Up, Up, and Away with Birds," a Mighty Acorns Preschool Explorers Club program, on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Environmental educator, Lynn Morgan, will teach about local birds. The Museum is located at 186 Townshend Road in Grafton.

Preschoolers will play games to learn bird names, venture outside to become bird watchers. The group will also make a holiday present to take home for the birds in their own backyards.

This program is for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. It is free to Museum members and costs $7 per child for non-members. Parents and guardians attend at no additional charge. In Guilford...

SENIOR LUNCH: The Guilford Golden Agers Senior Lunch, sponsored by Senior Solutions, will take place on Friday, Dec. 21, at noon at the Guilford Community Church. The menu will be a Christmas dinner.

Books will be available on loan from the Guilford Free Library. Blood pressures will be taken courtesy of Guilford Cares.

In Halifax...

SENIOR MEAL: Senior Solutions will sponsor the Halifax Senior Meal on Friday, Dec. 21, at noon at the Halifax Community Hall. The hall is located at the crossroads of Branch and Brook roads in West Halifax.

On the menu will be baked chicken legs, mashed potatoes, peas, rolls and a brownie sundae with peppermint ice cream.

In Townshend...

MUSIC CONCERT: Windham Central Supervisory Union Elementary Music Concert will be held at the Leland & Gray Union High School in the gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m.

The concert features the instrumental students from NewBrook, Townshend, Jamaica, Wardsboro, and Dover elementary schools, as well as Windham Elementary School, in an instrumental and vocal performance. They will be under the direction of Kate Ullman, choral director, and Michael McKinney, director of bands.

There will be three elementary bands, the Cadet Band, the District Band, the Elementary Jazz Band, as well as the combined Chorus. There will also be a special guest performance of the LGUHS Band under the direction of Tom Walter. There is no charge for this concert.

CHRISTMAS DINNER: A Christmas dinner for the community will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 20, at The Townshend Church. The meal is sponsored by Senior Solutions. The suggested donation is $3 for people over 60 years, and $4 for all others.

Blood pressure screening by VT/NH Visiting Nurse Association will be available from 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited and welcome.
