BRATTLEBORO -- Three Brattleboro residents were cited for possession of cocaine after the Brattleboro Police Department searched their Canal St. apartment this weekend.
Stephanie Cooper, 46, Jason Heath, 25, and Brenda Rose, 53, are all scheduled to appear in Windham District Court after officers searched two apartments at 125 Canal St.
An unspecified amount of cocaine was found in the apartments.
-- Chastity White, 35, of Bellows Falls, was cited to appear in Windham District Court on Jan. 5, 2010, after police charged her on Nov. 24 for fraud.
-- Pamela Johnson, 46, of Brattleboro, was taken into custody Dec. 7 for possession of stolen property and false pretenses. The charges stem from police executing a search warrant on Dec. 1 of her Green Street residence in relation to a credit card stolen from Elliot Street and used at the Price Chopper on Canal Street. Police also found she was in possession of prescription drugs without a prescription.
-- Timothy D. Stockwell, 28, of Brattleboro, was charged Dec. 8 for driving with a suspended license after police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Birge Street. Further investigation revealed Stockwell was operating the vehicle on a criminally suspended license and was cited to appear in Windham District Court on Jan. 5, 2010 to answer this charge.
-- Kenneth A. Ellis, Jr., 61, of Hinsdale, N.
-- Alberto Cruz Jr., 25, and Bonnie J. Nasuta, 27, of Brattleboro, were arrested by Brattleboro Police on Dec. 7, at a Second Level Drive home.
Police said they went to the home to locate Nasuta, who had a active warrant for her arrest. In the process of finding Nasuta, police said they arrested Cruz, who also had an active arrest warrant and was found to be in violation of court ordered conditions.
Both were lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department in lieu of bail -- $1,000 for Nasuta and $2,000 for Cruz.
-- Pamela Johnson, 46, and Heidi Ramirez (Anderson), 26, both of Brattleboro, were cited by Brattleboro Police on Dec. 6, for fraudulent use of a debit card, petit larceny and possession of stolen property.
Police said the pair had used a stolen debit card to make several purchases at the Price Chopper on Canal Street. In addition, Johnson is also accused of other fraud cases in the area, police said.
Johnson and Ramirez both will answer to the charges in Windham District Court at a later date.
-- Daniel Silverman, no age given, was arrested by Brattleboro Police on Dec. 5 on a charge of domestic assault following an incident at America’s Best Inn.
-- Katie Carbo, 24, of Willimantic, Conn., escaped injury after a one-car crash on Interstate 91 on the West River Bridge.
Vermont State Police said Carbo was travelling south, lost control of her 1997 Hyundai Sonata and struck the east side guard rail and bridge abutment before coming to rest on the north side of the bridge. State police said the car was totaled, but Carbo, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt.
-- Vermont State Police responded to Interstate 91 for reports of a jackknifed tractor trailer around 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 9.
Upon their arrival on scene, police found 58-year-old Nicholas Polselli, of North Walpole, N.H., had lost control of the truck he was operating. He struck the guardrail and came to rest facing northbound in the southbound lane.
No injuries were reported, but the truck received minor damage to the front bumper and a flat tire as a result of the crash. Polselli was issued a citation for unreasonable and imprudent speed for conditions and hazards.
-- Vermont State Police are investigating vandalism to a parcel of land being maintained by Forest Cares. State police said someone had started up a bulldozer on the property and some damaged drainage areas. Anyone with information is asked to call the Brattleboro barracks at 802-254-2382.
