-- Ronald Ryan, 47, of Bellows Falls, was arrested by Bellows Falls Police on Jan. 10 for driving with a criminally suspended license following a traffic stop for speeding. Ryan will answer to the charge in Windham District Court on Feb. 16.
-- Sammara L. Washington, 31, of Brattleboro, was cited by Brattleboro Police on Jan. 7 for check forgery.
Police said they were contacted to investigate possible check forgery when they discovered Washington was in possession of stolen checks and had attempted to use them.
Washington, who is currently being held without bail on an unrelated arrest warrant, was cited to appear in Windham District Court on Jan. 14 to answer to the forgery charge.
-- James M. Helyar, 55, of Brattleboro, was arrested by Brattleboro Police for driving under the influence on Jan. 9 after a traffic stop on Canal Street.
Police said Helyar was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.358, four times the legal limit. He was cited to appear in Windham District Court on Jan. 26.
-- A 11-year-old Brookline boy was cited to appear in juvenile court by Vermont State Police as a result of stealing a $50 bill from the purse of his bus driver on Jan. 5.
State police said a teacher at Brookline Elementary School recovered the money from another student.
The boy later confessed to taking the money to buy a kaleidoscope, a LEGO watch and two dimes and a nickel from the other student, state police said.
-- Corwin J. McAllister, 18, of Newfane, was cited by Vermont State Police on Jan. 8 after clocking his vehicle speeding at 101 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 91.
McAllister, who was charged with careless and negligent operation and excessive speed, will answer to the charge at Windham District Court at a later date.
