BRATTLEBORO -- A Vernon man received quite a scare on Saturday after the motorcycle he was riding on Putney Road was struck by a car.
Witnesses said Jason M. Scherlin was turning left at 698 Putney Road when he was hit by Desiree K. Boucher, 22, of Hinsdale, N.H., who was traveling south.
Scherlin was knocked on top of the hood of Boucher’s vehicle and when she slammed on the brakes, he rolled off the vehicle and onto the roadway before becoming pinned under the front end of Boucher’s car.
The Brattleboro Police Department, the Brattleboro Fire Department and Rescue Inc. responded to the scene and were able to get Scherlin out from under the vehicle. He was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to the Brattleboro Police Department.
Boucher was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right-of-way.
Jason Bushey, of Westminster, was cited for disorderly conduct on Elliot Street on April 2.
Daniel Kemp, 33, of Guilford, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Putney Road on April 3. According to police, Kemp had a blood alcohol content of .241 percent, three times the legal limit. He was ordered to appear in Windham District Court on April 19.
In Vernon, 36-year-old Aimee R. Harrison, 36, was arrested on April 4 for driving with a criminally suspended license. She was cited to appear in Windham District Court at a later date.
In Whitingham, Justin Perdue, 18, of Wilmington, was arrested for simple assault on March 31 as a result of an altercation on March 25. According to police, Perdue physically assaulted a 16-year-old juvenile in front of the Jacksonville General Store. Perdue was ordered to appear in Windham District Court on April 27.
In Putney, Matthew Bennet-Fieman, 18, of Marblehead, Mass., was cited for the possession of marijuana on March 22. He was ordered to appear in court on April 27.
Also in Putney, 18-year-old Nicholas John Colin, of Santa Fe, N.M., was arrested for driving under the influence on Sand Hill Road on March 29. He was ordered to appear in court on April 19.
In Bellows Falls, a set of tires on aluminum rims was discovered hidden in a secluded area of the village on March 29. The owner of the wheels is encouraged to call the police at 802-463-1234.
In Londonderry, John Sughrue, 47, of South Londonderry, was arrested for driving under the influence after state police responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 100 at the Londonderry Plaza on March 26.
According to police, Sughrue had a blood alcohol content of .290 percent, more than three times the legal limit. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
