-- On June 9, members of the Vermont State Police, Saxtons River Fire and Rescue Department and Golden Cross Ambulance responded to Route 35 for a report of a motorcycle crash.
Investigation revealed that 54-year-old David Green of Somerville, Mass., was riding with a friend and were unaware that the road changed from pavement to dirt. When Green pressed his brakes he lost control of his motorcycle.
Green was transported to Grace Cottage Hospital with a head injury.
Vermont State Police Trooper Nicholas Arlington stated speed may have been a factor in the crash and that the investigation is ongoing.
BELLOWS FALLS
-- Analiese Burge of Bellows Falls was arrested on June 6 for domestic assault after police responded to a call on Henry Street.
Burge was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charge.
BRATTLEBORO
-- Kevin M. Long, 33, previously of Springfield, Mass., was arrested on June 13 for failing to register as a sex offender when he moved to Vermont.
Long, who moved to Brattleboro in April, failed to register with the state within the allotted three-days.
Vermont State Police Det. Tyson Kinney said they were notified about Long, on June 5 and arrested him at his home without incident.
Long was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on June 26 to answer the charge.
-- A New Hampshire woman was arrested for drug possession on June 13, after police initiated a traffic stop along I-91.
According to Vermont State Police Trooper James Matthews, investigation revealed that Kathryn Davis, 31, of Swanzy, N.H., had several Oxycodone pills without a prescription.
Davis was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 31, to answer the charge.
-- Richard J. Katzman, 56, of Fairfield, Conn., was arrested for driving with a suspended license on June 10, after police conducted a motor vehicle stop along Western Avenue.
Katzman was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 17, to answer the charge.
-- A 26-year-old Putney woman was arrested on June 12, for an outstanding warrant.
According to Brattleboro Police, Josephine Rivera contacted the Probation and Parole Office because she had an extraditable warrant from New Hampshire.
Rivera was taken into custody without incident and held on lack of $50,000 bail.
-- Wilder E. Fichter, 21, of Putney was arrested for driving under the influence after police initiated a motor vehicle stop along Putney Road on June 9, at 2:55 a.m.
According to Brattleboro Police Officer Adam Eaton, Fichter was driving without his headlights on and after being pulled over, investigation revealed he was under the influence.
Fichter was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on June 26, to answer the charge.
-- A 22-year-old local man was arrested for unlawful trespassing along Washington Street.
Jeremiah Crompton of Brattleboro was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 17 to answer the charge.
-- A 30-year-old Connecticut woman was arrested for excessive speed, negligent operation and driving under the influence.
On June 9, at about 11:15 p.m., Vermont State Police Trooper Max Trenosky said he received a report of a Volkswagen Jetta traveling at high speeds in the southbound lane of I-91.
Trenosky said he clocked the vehicle at 82 mph and that the driver, Erin A. Reilly of Marion, Conn., was intoxicated.
Reilly was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charge.
-- Leo J. Bartoll of Newfane was arrested for unlawful trespass after members of the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the Putney Road Rite Aid to a report of "suspicious circumstances."
Bartoll was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 17 to answer the charge.
-- Chelsie Ouellette, 36, of Brattleboro, was cited and released on June 11, for failing to sign in at the Brattleboro Police Department, a condition of her release.
Ouellette is scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on to answer the charge.
-- On June 9, police arrested George T. Griffin, 61, of Brattleboro, after they say he was heavily intoxicated and reportedly damaging a room at the Canal Street Econolodge.
According to Sgt. Mark Carignan, Griffin also had an outstanding arrest warrant for a previous violation of his conditions of release after being charged with driving under the influence.
-- A local man was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
On June 2, Brattleboro Police Officer Adam Petlock said he was dispatched to Brattleboro Mobil.
After a brief investigation, Joshua Sternberg, 29, of Brattleboro, had been driving with his license criminally suspended.
Sternberg was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 17, to answer the charge.
DUMMERSTON
-- On June 8, police arrested 28-year-old Tia M. Jensen of Brandon for driving with a suspended license.
According to Vermont State Police Trooper Michael Roj, Jensen was stopped after driving at a high rate of speed along I-91.
A record check revealed Jensen’s license was criminally suspended. She was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 17 to answer the charge.
GUILFORD
-- A stolen ATV have been recovered and police are looking for information regarding the theft.
According to Vermont State Police Trooper Genevra Cushman, on June 10, the vehicles were found abandoned in the woods near Route 5.
Witnesses told police they saw a young man pushing it up the road after it wouldn’t start then left it in the woods.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cushman at 802-254-2382.
PUTNEY
-- On June 7, Police responded to a single motor vehicle crash along I-91.
Vermont State Police Trooper Travis Valcourt stated that Jamie Dorner, of Monmouth Beach, N.J., was driving her 2009 Honda Civic southbound at approximately 71 mph in heavy rain.
She lost control of her vehicle, spun out of control and crashed into the guardrails along the east side of the highway.
There were no injuries as a result of the crash. Dorner’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
ROCKINGHAM
-- Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about two recent acts of vandalism at a construction site on Randall Hill Road to contact them.
According to Trooper Nicholas Arlington, sometime between June 8 and 10, then again on June 12 and 13, someone spray painted the equipment at the site.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious vehicles or people are asked to call 802-875-2112.
SAXTONS RIVER
-- Police responded to a disturbance along River Street shortly after midnight on June 6.
According to Vermont State Police Trooper Jonathan Graham, a man and a woman were having a verbal dispute in a driveway and at one point, the man, later identified as 27-year-old Timothy Williams of Saxtons River, picked up a bicycle and slammed it on the ground.
Investigation revealed that Williams was intoxicated and after the woman repeatedly asked him to leave she went inside her home and called the police.
Williams allegedly started throwing things at the windows and doors and the woman left to wait for police.
While she was gone, Williams kicked in the locked door, entered the home and damaged several items.
He was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court at a later date to answer the charges of disorderly conduct, burglary and unlawful mischief.
WESTMINSTER
-- On June 15, at about 9:08 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash along Route 123 in Westminster.
According to Vermont State Police Trooper Paul Dean, Elizabeth Walker, 49, of Dublin, N.H., was traveling west and stopped her vehicle before driving beneath a railroad underpass. Scott Labelle, 42, of Hinsdale, N.H., was following to close to Walkers vehicle and failed to stop crashing into the rear of her vehicle.
Dean said there was "minor to moderate damage" to both vehicles and Labelle was issued a ticket for following too close and failure to wear a seatbelt.
