WESTMINSTER: A 63-year-old New Hampshire woman was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital after she rear-ended a tractor trailer on I-91 Monday morning.

According to the Vermont State Police, Tricia Johson of Lisbon, N.H., was taken to BMH for treatment of possible internal injuries. No information on her condition has been released by the hospital at this time.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., the state police responded to the highway after receiving a report about the accident.

According to the Vermont State Police, witnesses reported seeing Johnson traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when she struck the rear of a tractor trailer. She then drove into the grassy median before crossing over the northbound lanes and crashing into the woods approximately 20 yards off the pavement.

Johnson and her passenger, who was not named, had to be extracted from the vehicle.

Due to the vehicle’s final position of rest lodged among several tall trees and thick brush, AOT was dispatched and safely removed the trees and brush.

Johnson’s 2001 Saab was totaled. Rick’s Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
