Font ResizeBRATTLEBORO -- A local man is facing up to five years behind bars after he allegedly flashed a group of women.
Trevor J. Golding, 35, of Brattleboro, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of lewd and lascivious conduct and was released on conditions following his arraignment in Windham County Superior Court on Tuesday.
According to witnesses, a man they knew as Trevor walked up to the group along Putney Road on July 19 sometime after 10 p.m. He was wearing a green shirt and shorts and greeted the women sitting there then exposed himself to them.
One of the women wrote in a police statement that what Golding did was "inappropriate and offensive."
Investigation into Golding began earlier that night after members of the Brattleboro Police Department were dispatched to an apartment complex along High Street where a man was allegedly inside knocking on doors asking for drugs.
One witness told Officer Ryan Washburn that the man, later identified as Golding, "looked drunk and was acting very strange," according to the affidavit.
As Washburn was speaking with the witness, another officer approached them explaining that a man had just exposed himself to the women and he gave chase but lost him along Main Street.
Golding was found a short while later, clearly upset and smelling of intoxicants, Washburn wrote.
He said he was being chased by several men but didn’t know why. He also admitted to consuming
Golding was arrested and later released on conditions from the Brattleboro Police Department.
Since his arrest, Golding was admitted to the Windham Center for inpatient care.
If convicted, Golding is also facing up to a $300 fine.
