Font ResizeWESTMINSTER -- A Westminster man was charged with attempted aggravated assault, aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment after a firearm was discharged in a Gage Street home on the morning of Aug. 16.
According to the Vermont State Police, Emery Ross, 26, had been involved in a disagreement with members of the household over the possession of a computer. He pointed a firearm at a family member and during a struggle to get the weapon away from him, it was discharged.
After a short standoff with police, Ross came out of the house where he was found to be in possession of two knives.. He was transported to the Springfield Hospital emergency room where he was evaluated by HCRS and released into the custody of police.
He was released with conditions by the court without bail.

-- On Aug. 7, Brattleboro police responded to Town Crier Drive to the report of a possibly intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, police arrested Danielle L. Broderick, 45, of Brattleboro, and charged her with driving under the influence, driving with a criminally suspended license and contempt of court. She was ordered to appear in court on Aug. 28.

-- On Aug. 2 at approximately 11 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to the report of a one-vehicle crash on Higley Hill Road. The investigation determined Justin Maturo, 19, of Dover, failed to negotiate a sharp curve and his vehicle left the
-- On Aug. 6, the Vermont State Police responded to Route 9 for the report of a two-vehicle accident. During the investigation, police determined that Jill Cobb, 33, of Wilmington, was following too closely a vehicle being driven by Kelley Snyder, 62, of Brattleboro.
Police said Cobb was unable to stop her vehicle when Snyder had to come to an abrupt stop. Neither of the operators were injured in the crash, but Cobb's vehicle was too damaged to drive away from the scene.
Cobb was issued a written warning for following too closely.
