Community nursing program in Putney
PUTNEY -- Putney Cares and Putney Family Services are teaming up to sponsor a pilot community nursing program in Putney.
Modeled after the Guilford and Westminster Cares nurse programs, home nursing care is provided free of charge to residents not eligible for services from other home-based organizations. The nurse can address concerns such as home safety, medication management, blood pressure checks, foot care, minor wound care, and others.
Nursing care in Putney will be provided by Registered Nurse Sarah Stracco, who also currently works in the Special Care Unit at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

NewBrook to host blood donor day Aug. 21
NEWFANE -- The American Red Cross will hold a blood donor day at the NewBrook Fire Department in Newfane on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. All presenting donors will receive a limited edition Fenway Park 100th Year celebration T-shirt.

HCRS golf tourney today
WINDHAM -- Health Care and Rehabilitation Services will host its 5th annual Golf Tournament for Autism on Friday, Aug. 17, at the historic Tater
The tournament has a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and will be a mixed-scramble based on best ball. The entry fee is $130.
All proceeds from the tournament will be used to help support those individuals and families living with the ongoing challenges of Autism in our communities.
