MANCHESTER, N.H. -- The Hinsdale XC teams competed at Derryfield Park in the Division III State Championship. 35 schools from across the state were in attendance. The Pacer girls team finished 18th and the boys finished 28th. Hopkinton won both races.
Roxy Toussaint led the way for the Hinsdale ladies in 20th place out of 148 girls with a time of 21:47. The race was won by Sami Hicks of Laconia in 19:38.
By finishing in the top 23, Toussaint qualified for next Saturday’s Meet of Champions in Nashua, N.H. This is the second straight year that she has been able to achieve this standard. Toussaint ran a solid race, and will be looking to improve her time and finish from last year’s performance in Nashua.
The boys were led by Tanner Nichols in 36th place out of 201 boys in 18:19. Levi Frye of Fall Mountain won the race in 16:12.
Tanner worked hard all summer with the goal of making the top 23. He raced tough, yet fell short. He did manage to shave 2:02 off of last year’s time. "I’m very proud of Tousssaint’s and Nichols’ season and their effort today," said Hinsdale coach Glenn Hammett.
