WILMINGTON -- The Hermitage Club is getting ready for the ski season.

"We have this beautiful, new sign at the entrance that welcomes members, guests and the valley," said Mary Beth Tryon, director of marketing for the Hermitage Club.

This sign is on Coldbrook Road.

Out of 45 signs, between 10 and 20 signs will be placed throughout the valley. Others will be placed on Haystack property. Some signs will have directions and many will be custom-crafted.

In addition to the signs, a new chair-lift line has been installed that connects the Hermitage Inn to the Haystack mountain.

It is a 2,800-ft line that, Tryon said, has brought to life Hermitage Club owner and founder, Jim Barnes’ vision. He also owns the Hermitage Inn, which was said to be the "epi-center" of the club.

The Hermitage Club’s membership sales center will have its grand opening later this month. It is located next to the Hermitage Deerfield Valley Real Estate office at 83 on Route 100.

The Hermitage Club is a private club that offers recreation throughout the year. The club is primarily known for its skiing and golfing.

"The Hermitage Club is bringing business to the valley," said Tryon. "It’s unique and uncrowded."

Haystack should be open for club members to ski in late November.
