WINCHESTER, N.H. -- The town may soon run on Dunkin'.
The Winchester Planning Board voted 6-1 last week to approve a combination Dunkin' Donuts shop, convenience store and gas station at 4 Warwick Road (the intersection of Route 119, Route 10 and Route 78).
Margaret Sharra, Winchester's land use administrator, said she expects developer S.S. Baker's Realty Co. LLC to apply for a building permit after the proposal is approved by the town's water and sewer departments. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, she said, would also have to give its approval of an underground fuel tank after a 30-day period for appeal expires on Thursday, Aug. 15.
An appeal can be filed through Cheshire County Superior Court.
Sharra told the Reformer the planning board rejected a similar plan last year. This time, she said, the building proposed is smaller, the entrance to Main Street is for right-hand turns only, and more space in the parking lot means 11 vehicles can fit, as opposed to 10.
The proposed building will be a 3,500-square-foot structure. The dissenting vote on the planning board came from member Larry Hill, according to Sharra.
