EAST MONTPELIER (AP) - Family members of an East Montpelier man say they're glad that property the governor bought from a neighbor at a steep discount has been returned to Jerry Dodge.

Dodge's family said through their attorneys that they "could not be happier to be back in the family home and look forward to spending many years there."

A deal between Dodge and Gov. Peter Shumlin was signed on Monday.

Shumlin told WCAX-TV that he was also glad that it worked it and that Dodge's children have gotten involved to help Dodge keep the house in the future.

Shumlin also said last month that the episode has been a lesson for him to that as governor, he's governor every single day and held to a different standard than average citizens.
