BURLINGTON (AP) - Vermont's Champlain College is marking the beginning of construction on a $24.5 million Center for Communications and Creative Media on the school's Burlington campus.

The Tuesday groundbreaking for the project will mark the start of the single largest construction project on the Champlain campus.

The project will provide new space for labs, studios and classrooms. The center also will become the central hub for student services including transportation shuttles, bookstore, expanded food service, and special event and meeting space.

The project is scheduled to be finished in August 2015.
