Jason Biggs finally got around to apologizing for his insensitive tweets following Thursday's crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 near the Ukraine-Russian border.
The "Orange is the New Black" star was lambasted Thursday on Twitter after tweeting, "Anyone wanna buy my Malaysia Airlines frequent flier miles?"
That was met by sharp criticism from his followers, one of whom wrote, "Too soon, man. Too soon."
Initially, Biggs fired back with a series of defensive tweets, even telling his critics not to follow him if they don't like his jokes.
Late Thursday, the actor changed his tune. "Hey all - ok, so - I am deleting my previous tweets. People were offended, and that was not my intent. Sorry to those of you that were," he tweeted.
"This is obviously a horrible tragedy," he added, "and everyone-including myself- is sad and angry about it. Sending positive thoughts to the victims and their families. P.S. No one is making me send these tweets- I simply understand that my comments might have come off as insensitive and ill-timed. For that, I apologize."
