Slow Down! Reports about multi-vehicle accidents in work zones, drivers going through closed work zones and almost hitting a flag person are very serious. When you are not paying attention, become distracted or are speeding in a work zone it is not just your life that is on the line. Work zones are full of people who want to get home, too.

I-89 bridge work will continue in Milton. Reduced speeds should be expected. Paving at night between Richmond and Colchester will go on from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Paving between Berlin and Brookfield will continue. Delays should be expected.

I-91 projects affecting traffic this week include a paving project in the north and southbound lanes between St. Johnsbury and Lyndon between Exits 23 and 21. Paving in both north and southbound lanes from Fairlee to Newbury will reduce traffic to one lane with speed restrictions. In Windsor a bridge project directs northbound traffic into the southbound lane with a reduced speed limit. In Brattleboro a second bridge project between Exits 2 and 3 relocates northbound traffic to the southbound bridge. Drivers should expect delays during commuting hours.

Route 105 in Richford features a paving project. Short delays should be expected.

Route 108 in Enosburg is undergoing a paving and drainage project that will slow traffic.

Route 2 from Colchester to Alburgh is being paved. Drivers should expect delays in this work zone.

Route 2 from Burlington to South Burlington is being realigned by the Sheraton Hotel. Night work will go on Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Expect lane closures.

Route 15 in Hyde Park is undergoing a box culvert installation.

Route 12 between Elmore and Morristown includes a six-mile paving project that will create one-way traffic.

Route 5 between Lyndon and St. Johnsbury is reduced to one lane for a paving project. Delays should be expected especially during the afternoon commute.

Route 15 in Essex/Jericho will see paving work begin on Tuesday, July 22. Delays should be expected.

Route 2 between Waterbury and Bolton will see alternating one-lane traffic for a paving project. Drivers should expect delays.

Route 2 and Route 100 roundabout work includes excavation for utilities. Short delays during afternoon commuting hours and occasional short-term lane closures should be expected. Route 100 at Exit 10 gets a traffic signal installation that will slow traffic.

Route 14 in Barre Town is having a culvert replaced in Jockey Hollow. Drivers should expect a speed restriction in this work zone.

Route 12A in Braintree will be closed at Bridge #7 over the Cahee Brook. Bridge #6 on Route 12A will be reduced to one lane on July 27.

Route 73 in Rochester has multiple bridge projects underway in July. Drivers should expect road closures in these work zones. Details on these and many other projects can be found at Routerans.vermont.gov.

Route 107 between Stockbridge and Bethel work includes a speed limit reduction (to 40 mph) for a roadway improvement project. Drivers should expect delays.

Route 12 in Barnard is closed for a bridge project.

In Rutland, night work on Woodstock Avenue continues from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Routes will grind the surface Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The sidewalk project will slow traffic in that work zone. Crews will continue sewer line installation on South Main.

Route 5 in Hartland will feature two separate bridge projects and will include the closure of Bridge #62A over the New England Central Railroad from July 21 to Aug. 16. Route 5 in Putney and Route 123 in Westminster will see traffic delays for paving.

Route 100 between Jamaica and Londonderry will experience traffic delays for a paving project.

Route 9 in Marlboro at the Brattleboro town line has a bridge project. Short delays should be expected.

Remember to slow down especially where loose material on the road surface could puncture tires or break windshields and keep that cell phone out of your hands. Happy Motoring.
