On Wednesday, sing-along with Tina Olsen as she plays old time folk songs. Tina fell in love with folk music of the 60s and 70s when she was 12 and taught herself guitar. She is happy to sing folk favorites and take requests.
On Thursday, enjoy uplifting jazz and blues with Patti Smith, jazz vocalist, and Kate Parsons, pianist. Patti is a regular in the Southern VT Deerfield Valley music scene. Her influences include Billie Holiday, June Christy, Anita O'Day, Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker. Katie was a founding trustee of the Open Music Collective in Brattleboro, and as an accomplished pianist, she enjoys responding to and rediscovering songs with jazz vocalists of a wide variety of styles.
On Friday, nestled in the hills and riverscapes of Southern Vermont, singer and songwriter Hannah Hoffman recently released her first album, Blur, consisting of songs written over the course of the past 6 years. Hannah draws inspiration from folksy songstresses like Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, and Regina Spektor, but explores an edgy soulfulness in her vocals.
