BRATTLEBORO >> Marlboro businessman Brandon Riker announced that he has hired Ben Young to be Ccampaign manager in his bid for Lieutenant Governor. The hiring comes six months before the Democratic Primary.
"I am excited to bring on someone with Ben's experience to run my campaign," Riker said. "Ben has been involved in campaigns all over the United States, from federal to mayoral, and his track record of running successful campaigns will be a huge asset to our organization. The stakes are just too high for us not to run the most modern campaign in Lieutenant Governor history, and that's what I have asked Ben to do."
Prior to joining the Riker campaign, Ben served as the senior field strategist to the Progressive Change Campaign Committee in their partnership with Mayday SuperPAC where he ran the National Field Program in targeted Senate and Congressional districts across the country.
"When I was offered the opportunity to Brandon's campaign, I jumped at the chance. I believe his commitment to working to bring hi-speed internet to every corner of Vermont, creating well-paying jobs for Vermonters and fighting for the middle class is more than just campaign rhetoric,' said Young. "I believe these things are good for Vermont, and I believe Brandon is the candidate that can make them happen."
In addition, Riker has opened the his campaign office in his bid for Lieutenant Governor of Vermont. The office is located on Putney Road in Brattleboro.
"I felt it was important that our first campaign office be in the southern end of the state," said Riker about the selection of Brattleboro. "It's where I live, where I went to high school, and where I have my business so it seemed like a natural choice to locate my first office there."
