BRATTLEBORO >> Now is the time to register for the 7th annual Going the Distance Bike Ride that benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro. The Ride, held on June 25 is a very family friendly ride, not a race, that attracts cyclists of all abilities.
Riders can choose either a 40, 60 or 100 mile route that are fully supported with rest stops, delicious food and support vans. All routes begin and end at the Marlboro College Graduate Center and travel through scenic areas of Vermont and Massachusetts along the Connecticut River. The popular century route loops from Brattleboro to Northampton, Mass., and back. At the finish line, bikers are greeted with a full course meal and a commemorative T-shirt.
Participants are asked to join the event's fund-raising page and help solicit sponsors for their ride. Each cyclist can set their own fund-raising goal, starting at $350. Riders can form a team of co-workers or friends. Top fundraisers will receive a uniquely designed bike jersey along with local gift certificates.
All money raised supports the affordable summer camps offered at Boys & Girls Club. If you're not riding, support one of our riders and think about volunteering on the day of the ride.
Corporate sponsors include Brattleboro Savings & Loan, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Recycle Away, The Marina Restaurant, Trust Company of Vermont, Baystate Financial, GPI Construction, Brattleboro Retreat and Richards Group.
