BRATTLEBORO >> The Boston Bruins Foundation recently announced that it has awarded High 5 Adventure Learning Center a $2,500 grant to help fund the Edge of Leadership High School Program.
High school students and teachers from throughout the Northeast attended in August, including Keene, N.H., High School, Princeton, N.J., Day School, Essex Technical High School in Hathorne, Mass., and Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School, in Sudbury, Mass. Students and teachers attend as teams and work side by side throughout the program.
"We couldn't be happier that the Boston Bruins Foundation is partnering with us to create leaders," said Jim Grout, Executive Director of High 5. "EOL has the potential to improve schools and change lives, and their funding will help more New England youth attend this important program."
EOL's success is based on the belief that students — given the right encouragement, tools, and opportunity — are a powerful resource for bringing innovation and positive influence to the school community and to the lives of others.
EOL helps students and their teachers connect and communicate in new and positive ways that improve classroom and school culture, promote effective collaboration skills, and instill confidence in both the teachers' and students' leadership capabilities.
