NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Noah Brennan-Sawyer, son of Martin and Susan Brennan-Sawyer of Putney, Vt., graduated cum laude from Columbia University on May 14 with bachelor degrees in Psychology and History.

Binghamton University

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A team of Binghamton University students were recently selected as first-place winners in the National Federal Aviation Administration’s Design Competition for Universities. Janette Wambere of Wilmington, Vt., was a member of the winning team.

Competing against 50 colleges and universities worldwide, the Binghamton University team captured the top prize in the "Airport Operations and Maintenance" challenge with a submission titled, "Web-Based Smartphone Applications for Pavement Analysis: A Geographical Information System Approach." The team was recognized for adopting existing technology in new and practical ways at airports.

Franklin Pierce University

RINDGE, N.H. -- The following Vermont students graduated from Franklin Pierce University on May 12: Natalie Harding of Brattleboro, Vt., graduated as a Physician Assistant; Jennifer Wagner of Newfane, graduated with a bachelor of science in Arts Management and a Fine Arts Concentration; and Benjamin Brewer of Brattleboro, earned a bachelor of science in Sports and Recreation Management. Brewer was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Samuel M. Righi of Brattleboro, Vt., was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Righi is a senior majoring in human nutrition, foods and exercise in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Cassandra Keith of Brattleboro, Vt., received an undergraduate degree from the School of Visual Arts on May 10 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Keith graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree in Photography.
