WESTMINSTER -- Cassidy Santorelli has been named the October Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School. Cassidy, a sophomore, is the daughter of Anthony Santorelli of Walpole, N.H., and Cindy Santorelli of Bellows Falls. Cassidy is always positive, friendly and helpful. Her smile and bubbly personality are contagious.
Always willing to help others, Cassidy goes out of her way to offer assistance any way she can. She shows tremendous school spirit, is active in sports and student government and works hard to make BFUHS a better place. As a class officer she has participated in fundraisers, helped lead class meetings and attended class events.
Currently, Cassidy is a member of a Peer Advocate Group co-facilitated by one of the Guidance Department’s interns and a Youth Advocate from the Women’s Freedom Center. Through this program, Cassidy is being trained about healthy relationships and how to access resources for students in unhealthy relationships with the goal of being a resource for her peers.
She has been nominated to attend the Vermont Student Athlete Leadership Conference as a representative from Bellows Falls and she also does gymnastics outside of school. Cassidy is not afraid to work hard. She is a responsible student, attentive in class and willing to work with others. She is open to improving her skills and freely accepts help. Always attentive to her academics, Cassidy takes a full and challenging academic load.
Often thinking outside the box, Cassidy actively participates in class discussions offering insightful comments. She is open to listening to the views of others and works hard to see "the other side" of issues.
