BRATTLEBORO -- Greta Larson, a junior from Williamsville, has been named the Windham Regional Career Center’s March 2014 Student of the Month. Greta is currently enrolled in the Film Making and Digital Editing program at the Career Center and additionally serves as a student ambassador to the school. She was nominated for this award by Michel Moyse, her filmmaking instructor.
Moyse shared that Greta "is an excellent student and a very hard worker who cares deeply about learning. She takes initiative and isn’t afraid to ask for help when needed. She thinks wonderfully on her feet and bounces back quickly when something unexpected comes her way, turning these situations into a positive."
Betsy Gentile, Workforce Development Coordinator and in charge of the student ambassador program, has seen Greta as an enthusiastic spokesperson for the Career Center, particularly in her work with prospective students.
Greta is broadly interested in the field of communications, which she plans to study in college, hopefully in California. She had an internship last year at radio station WTSA where she was given regular air time and learned to edit audio files. She loves her film course this year at the Career Center, finding that it is providing her "a lot of creative room and hands-on experiences."
The Career Center’s Film Making and Digital Editing course teaches the fundamentals of filmmaking through nonlinear digital editing and compositing using iMacs and a variety of software.
