"Star Wars" fans woke up to the news Friday morning that JJ Abrams has cast another buzz-worthy actress in the seventh installment of the sci-fi franchise.
Latino Review reported that British actress Christina Chong has joined the cast in a supporting role. Disney has not confirmed the report.
Chong is considered an up-and-coming actress after her work on "Doctor Who" and "24: Live Another Day."
The news isn't entirely unexpected. In May, Chong tweeted about being excited for the first day of filming on "Star Wars: Episode VII."
If true, she would join Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who are reprising their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia respectively, from the original trilogy.
"Episode VII" is slated for a December 2015 release date.
