SPRINGFIELD >> The River Valley Technical Center awarded the Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability award to level I and level II students. The Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability Award is named in honor of a former Horticulture and Natural Resources Program student from Green Mountain Union High School, who displayed outstanding dependability in the face of very challenging circumstances.

In order to be considered for the Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability Award a student must first have a 97percent or better attendance rate. This is the first threshold for the Aaron Douglas Outstanding Dependability Award. The following is the remaining criteria: prepared to work each day, dresses appropriately, follows instructions, completes tasks, is true to his word. Aaron lost his battle to cancer while he was attending the River Valley Technical Center, a few years ago.
