BRATTLEBORO -- On Thursday, The Open Music Collective will celebrate its third year with a reception and summer jazz faculty concert, featuring Jason Robinson on sax, Matan Rubinstein on piano, David Goodrich on guitar, Doug Raneri on drums and Jamie MacDonald on bass.

Open Music Collective in its three years has put on dozens of concerts and workshops, including six semesters of ensemble classes. This celebration also represents the culmination of OMC’s third week long jazz intensive.

Thursday’s musicians separately have played with many jazz greats including Marty Ehrlich, Charlie Kolhase, Michael Brecker, Charlie Haden, Sheila Jordan, and Chris Cheek. They will be playing original music as well as jazz standards by Thelonious Monk ("Evidence"), Charles Mingus ("I X Love"), John Coltrane ("Central Park West") and Ornette Coleman ("Focus on Sanity").

The reception will start at 7:30 p.m., with food and drink offerings, and the music will be begin at 8 p.m. There is a $10 suggested donation for the concert, which is held in the handicapped-accessible, air-conditioned suite in the Cotton Mill.
