BRATTLEBORO -- The BUHS Players bring the foolishness of the cursed Russian village of Kulyenchikov to life Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m., on the Brattleboro Union High School stage in a production of Neil Simon’s hilarious farce, "Fools."

First performed on Broadway in 1981 under the direction of Mike Nichols and called by CBS-TV "The brightest, freshest, funniest, wittiest, warmest" play seen in recent years, "Fools" tells of a remote Russian village in the 1890s inflicted by a terrible curse of stupidity.

The cast includes Ian Epstein, Casey Hagedorn, Julia Waldron, Hannah Paige, Claire Thomas, Abby Sherlock, Alexandra Brodeur, Bailey Whelchel, Amanda Rink and Matt Carroll.

"Fools" is under the direction of Robert Kramsky and is being stage-managed by Corinne Epstein. Technical assistance is provided by Alex Montgomery.
