Book Shelf authors
at River Garden
BRATTLEBORO -- Twenty-six authors of Vermont fiction collaboratively form the Vermont Book Shelf, and the group is taking part in the Brattleboro Literary Festival.
Meet mountain story spinner Castle Freeman or hear about horses and dogs directly from Jessie Haas. Other authors on hand include Michael J. Daley, Leda Schubert and Nancy Means Wright. New books from Beth Kanell and Jenny Land are about to be released, and these writers will bring samples. Novelists F.D. Reeve and Laura Stevenson will be there too.
Find them at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be handouts from Archer Mayor and S.S. Taylor and from picture book pro Lynda Graham-Barber, and books by many of the 26 writers.
Broadsides exhibit on view at Dianich Gallery
BRATTLEBORO -- Chickadee Chaps & Broads and the Catherine Dianich Gallery host an exhibition of letterpress-printed poetry broadsides from New England studios.
The Fall 2012 New England Broadside Exhibition at the Dianich Gallery features limited edition letterpress broadsides produced by some of the most eminent studios in New England.
The gallery is in the Hooker Dunham Building. There is an opening reception held on Friday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., as part of the 11th Annual Brattleboro Literary Festival, as well as from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Sunday.
