GRAFTON -- The Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s TD Bank Summer Festival Tour brings picnicking, music, and fireworks to the Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center on Wednesday, July 3.

Broadway star Sara Jean Ford joins the VSO for hits from the Great American Songbook. Vocal numbers by Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter and George Gershwin share the spotlight with irresistible Benny Goodman big band tunes. Orchestral favorites from the world of opera add drama, fantasy, and exoticism to the songful theme. As always, the concert closes with the spectacular "1812 Overture," marches and fireworks. Anthony Princiotti conducts.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking.

Tickets are $31 for adults ($36 at the gate); free for children under age 18, with advance adult ticket purchase only ($12 at the gate).

Tickets are available at Misty Valley Books in Chester, Village Square Booksellers in Bellows Falls, and from Grafton Village Cheese Shops in Brattleboro and Grafton. Tickets are also available at BrattleboroTix.com and FlynnTix at 802-86-FLYNN or flynntix.org.

TD Bank is the title sponsor of the Summer Festival Tour. Summer season sponsors are Weddings, Tents, and Events, a division of Valley Rent-All, and Vermont Public Radio. Trapp Lager is the official lager of the VSO.

The Grafton Ponds concert is sponsored by AARP, with additional support from the Windham Foundation and several anonymous donors.
