BRATTLEBORO -- Bellows Falls, Leland & Gray, and Twin Valley high schools will roll out their varsity fall sports programs next week, and the schedule includes a four-game opening weekend.
Beginning Friday, Aug. 30, the Terriers, Rebels, and Wildcats all begin their 2013 football, soccer, and field hockey seasons. Team practices and scrimmages will take place this week.
On Friday, Bellows Falls will play two of the four openers, as the Terrier boys soccer team takes to the pitch to host the Wildcats in a 4:30 contest, and the football team heads to Brattleboro to play their first game, against the Colonels on Natowich Field at 7.
On Saturday, the Rebel soccer teams will travel to Fairfax to take on Bellows Free Academy, with the girls starting things off with a morning matchup at 11, followed by a 4:30 boys game.
The Bellows Falls girls soccer team will host Long Trail in a Tuesday, Sept. 3 opener to be held at 4:30, while the Terrier field hockey squad will head to Bill Wood Field in Fair Haven to begin their season on Thursday, Sept. 5 starting at 4. Also on Tuesday, the Twin Valley girls soccer team will host Arlington at 6.
