BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Union High School cross-country team will open up on Tuesday at Thetford at 4:30 p.m.
"Cross country numbers are good. This is the largest turnout for the girls team in several years," said Colonels coach John Dimick. "The girls team is looking very promising at this point."
Catey Yost, who placed fifth in the 2012 Marble Valley League Championships, is the leading returnee for the BUHS girls.
"She is joined by newcomers Nevada Powers, Rebecca Freeman, Eve Pomazi, Gwen Harris, Taylor Maynard, and Katie Reynolds who are all running well," added Dimick. "Molly Schoales and Emily Gale are showing big improvement every day as well, Everyone is working hard and looking forward to getting some experience under their belts."
According to Dimick, the boys team has some strong returning runners in Austin Nichols, Ryan Gilligan, Jon Burdo, Oliver Pomazi, Josh Meachen, Gabe Britton, and Tyler Clement. Newcomers Phelan Muller, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Dan Burdo are also looking good and should help out the team. Garrett Winchester, Liam Reynolds, Gabe Ferrante, and Devin Rinaldi are working hard and should come along as the season progresses.
