WOODSTOCK -- Barton’s boys dropped to a 2-4 record on Thursday after losing to an unbeaten Woodstock. "Both teams had early opportunities," said L&G coach Chris Barton. "They made theirs, we missed ours."
Jake Sherman had the direct hit for the Rebels, 10 minutes into the second half, to make it 2-1.
Leland & Gray will play at Mill River on Saturday morning.
West Rutland 2, Bellows Falls 1
WEST RUTLAND -- The Brooks bunch fell to the Golden Horde on Thursday by a slim margin. Bellows Falls coach Robert Brooks said his team took 17 quality shots on goal, but couldn’t finish.
"We’ve got a few small problems," he said. "But the guys played well, and they struggled while staying strong and confident."
West Rutland ran away with it in the second half, according to Brooks. "They also taught our goalie a nice lesson," he said.
Liam Shaw had the Terriers’ sole goal, unassisted. Teammate and center-midfielder Lucas Clark played well, and looked for open lanes to disrupt the opposition.
Bellows Falls will host Black River on Monday.
