ST. JOHNSBURY -- After Brattleboro’s Ryan Fontaine made a 24-yard field goal to put his football team ahead by two points, Dylan Shattuck sprinted 84 yards up the gut for a touchdown with less than three minutes remaining and host St. Johnsbury held on for a 26-22 victory on Saturday.
Shattuck finished the game with 121 yards on nine carries and a 74-yard TD pass to Andrew Graciano. Colton Hudson added a 10-yard run to the house and Bill Brink returned a blocked punt 36 yards for another score.
Quarterback Kyle Patno paced the purple and white with 90 yards rushing and 73 more through the air. He had TD runs of one, three and 34 yards.
The Hilltoppers improved to 1-4 overall with the decision. The 1-4 Colonels will host Rutland on Friday night at 7.

MANCHESTER -- Bellows Falls signal-caller Ethan Illingworth and end David Dunbar hooked up for a pair of 18-yard scoring strikes, the latter of which was the sealing score in the fourth quarter of this Division 2 battle on Saturday.
Carson Fullam and Kyle O’Rourke had rushing touchdowns for the Terriers, who led 12-0 at halftime.
Griffin Stalcup threw an 80-yard touchdown to Dalton Blackwell. The duo also hooked up for BBA’s first TD.
The 3-2 Terriers will play at Spaulding on Saturday at 1 p.m.

WESTMINSTER -- A second-half hat trick from Morgan Kathan finished off a gutsy BF girls team on Friday. Chelsea Wilder scored the lone goal for the Terriers, who fell to 1-7 overall. Bellows Falls will play at Leland & Gray on Tuesday.

HINSDALE, N.H. -- The Pacers dropped to 2-5 overall with the loss to undefeated Woodsville on Saturday. Hinsdale will face Mascenic today.
TROY, N.Y. -- The Castleton State College football team was defeated by RPI, 23-8, on Saturday afternoon at East Campus Stadium. Castleton freshman quarterback Tyler Higley (BUHS 2013) finished 29-of-54 for 313 yards passing. His primary target was Soren Pelz-Walsh (BUHS 2012), who finished with career-highs of 11 catches and 147 yards receiving.
