BRATTLEBORO -- Aside from going undefeated and winning the Division 4 boys soccer tournament, three Twin Valley players were also named to the All-State team.

Senior forward Dal Nesbitt, senior midfielder Colin Lozito and senior defender Eli Park were all honored on Oct. 29. Nesbitt and Park each scored a goal during Twin Valley’s 3-0 victory over Proctor in the D-4 title game on Nov. 2, while Lozito chipped in with an assist.

Buddy Hayford, who was named the Division 3-4 coach of the year, referred to Lozito (19 goals, 19 assists) as the maestro. He said Park (8 goals) was like a wall in the back, and that Nesbitt (24 goals, 22 assists) is just a scorer with a great throw-in.

"They are all terrific leaders," added Hayford.

The Wildcats won every game they played in 2013, including 16 shutouts, and outscored their opposition by a combined 90-1.

Leland & Gray’s Adam Beattie was named to the Division 3 boys All-State team. The senior back helped the Rebels earn a No. 12 seeding in the recent tournament.

Three area girls also earned All-State honors, including Twin Valley’s Savannah Nesbitt and Hannah Swanson, and Leland & Gray’s Giannina Gaspero-Beckstrom. The Wildcats went 8-6 in the regular season, while the Rebels finished up at 5-9.

The VSCA Senior Classics will be held at Castleton State College on July 19. Hayford will be an assistant coach for the boys team.
