JERICHO -- Molly Burke scored four goals and Anna Burke tallied twice to propel the Mount Mansfield girls ice hockey team to a 6-2 victory over Brattleboro on Thursday.
"We generated the most offense that we have this year. We are moving in the right direction," said BUHS coach Kraig LaPorte, whose team was outshot 41-13.
Madison Doucette and Emma Rueter did the scoring for the Colonels. Hannah Curtis was credited with an assist.
Brattleboro (1-4) will host Stowe on Dec. 28 at 4:45 p.m.
Brattleboro 56, Windsor 28
WINDSOR -- Sam Siegel and Kyle Patno were the defensive standouts for the 1-1 Colonels.
"Defensively we had a game plan and we were able to implement that," said BUHS coach Joe Rivers. "Our goal was to take away their screen game and cutting action."
Isaac Roach and Chris McAuliffe paced the winners with 16 and 10 points respectively. Patno followed with eight and Lynden Bunker had seven in the final quarter.
The Colonels will host Mill River on Friday.
Leland & Gray 63, Black River 53
Corey Nystrom went off for 22 points to pace the Rebels. Ryan Borgesen followed with 10 and Nick Bills netted nine.
"Offensively, we did OK," stated Rebels coach Andy Nystrom. "Defensively, we struggled."
The 2-0 Rebels will play in the Keene State College Tournament on Dec. 26 at 6 p.m.
Burr and Burton 1
BRATTLEBORO -- Declan Lonergan split the posts twice to lead the purple and white. Evan Perkins also found the back of the net for the 1-3 Colonels.
Sharon 40, Bellows Falls 39
WESTMINSTER -- Suzie Moses scored 21 points to pace Sharon, which opened up a 15-point lead in the third quarter and held on.
Emily Dufault had 16 points to lead the 0-2 Terriers. Molly Dufault followed with six.
"Emily is our go-to girl. She had 10 points in the fourth quarter," said Bellows Falls coach Joe Goodhue.
The Terriers will host Leland & Gray on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and welcome Woodstock on Monday at 7 p.m.
Grades 7-8 Girls Hoops
TOWNSHEND -- All eight players scored for the grades 7-8 Leland & Gray girls basketball team in a 53-14 rout of Winchester, N.H., on Friday. Anna Buffum (13 points), Mariah Hazard (12) and Cierra Fillion (10) paced the 3-0 Rebels.
