CHESTER -- Three players scored in double figures, led by Meghan Eaton’s 13 points, as the MSJ girls basketball team trounced Twin Valley, 56-31, in the Green Mountain Holiday Tournament finals on Friday evening.

"It was just a case of way too many missed bunnies inside. It just went downhill from there," said Wildcats coach Buddy Hayford.

Sammy Cunningham-Darrah (13 points) and Colton Butler (10 points, 5 rebounds) paced the runnerups. Hannah Swanson pulled down nine boards.

The 3-1 Wildcats will host West Rutland on Monday at 2:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

Leland & Gray 43, Hinsdale 23

KEENE, N.H. -- Josh Donna finished with 10 points, Corey Nystrom netted nine and Bobby Culver added seven to lead the Leland & Gray boys basketball team to a 43-23 rout of Hinsdale in the first round of the Keene State College Tournament on Thursday.

"I thought our defensive effort was improved. I was pretty happy with our defensive effort," stated coach Andy Nystrom, whose Rebels improved to 3-0 overall.

Matt Boggio and Hunter Nichols each scored eight points for the Pacers.
