BRATTLEBORO -- The annual Harris Hill Ski Jumping competitions will take place on Feb. 15-16 on Cedar Street.
This year’s event, presented by Pepsi, features the Pepsi Challenge, Fred Harris Memorial Tournament and FIS Cup Series. More than 40 of the world’s top jumpers from the US, Europe and Canada are expected to compete.
On Saturday, Feb. 15, the gates will open at 10 a.m., with the remaining schedule looking like this: 11 a.m. -- trial and first jump, Open and Women’s Class; noon -- Opening Ceremonies featuring jazz and blues singer Samirah Evans; 12:30 p.m. -- 2nd jump, Open and Women’s Class; Trial Jump -- FIS Cup Class following conclusion of Open and Women’s; 1st and 2nd Jump -- FIS Cup Class following trial jump; Awards following event at the base of Harris Hill.

The ticket prices are: adults -- $20 or $15 (advance); youth, ages 6-12 -- $15 or $12 (advance); under 6 -- free.
Girls Youth Basketball
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Blue girls basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year with a 35-28 victory over Montague, Mass. Rachael Rooney led the winners with 27 points. Lucy Derosia, Maddie Johnson, Taylor Smith and Carmela Richardson all chipped in with buckets. Katrina Johnson played outstanding defense.
L&G JV 45 - Arlington 19
Rebels and Arlington got off to a slow start at Arlington and both teams had a tough time getting their shots to fall. The Rebels dominated the boards both on the offensive and defensive end of the court. Arlington played with intensity but wasn’t able to get it done, mostly due to the Rebels dominating the boards. Molly O’Brien lead the Rebels with a double double, 13 points and 15 rebounds. Caroline Tietz also had a double double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Erelyn Griffin had 10, Emma Densmore had 6 and Skyler Nupp and Emma Recchi had 2 a piece.
