Grab you friends and your appetite and visit one of eight participating restaurants during Brattleboro's annual restaurant week, kicking off for seven days on Friday.
Stop by one of the following restaurants during the week-long celebration of food: Blue Moose Bistro, duo Restaurant, Fireworks, hazel, Peter Havens, Superfresh! Organic Cafe, The Tavern Restaurant and Whetstone Station Restaurant & Brewery.
During the week, you can get special multi-course meals (e.g. appetizer, entree, and dessert) showcasing each chef's greatest dishes for $20, $30, or $40. The Vermont Foodbank is a beneficiary of some proceeds and the special events that take place during the week.

Brattleboro Food Co-op
There's lots going on at the Brattleboro Food Co-op this week. Kids may bring a favorite stuffed animal and dress up as an animal for a special tea party with homemade animal crackers, kid-friendly tea and animal stories from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. A program on the Grain of the Month, teff, will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Learn how to make teff burgers, pancakes and hot porridge.
Free Kids Class
Join Up The Road Farm owner and our own BFC IT guy Nathanael Matthiesen and his farmer wife Tadj Schreck, as they lead a cleanup to help the soil get ready for a beautiful and bountiful summer harvest. Come have a chat with local law enforcement personnel 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the Brattleboro Co-op Café. Discuss issues or just meet and greet. Saturday, April 23rd, 9 a.m. to noon.
Kids can explore carrots and their connection to the Middle East, while making pickled carrots and za'atar manoushe, a traditional street food pizza-like pie flavored with thyme, sesame, and salt.
