A sure sign of spring and summer to come, the Brattleboro Area Farmers Market opens its season Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., stop by the market, located on Route 9 near the Covered Bridge, and get your weekly produce and grab a quick lunch. The market features more than 50 vendors with agricultural products, crafts, live music and animals and ethnic foods from around the world.

Mezcal Berry Smash
5 to 6 blackberries and raspberries
2 pt mezcal
1 part house made sour mix
1 bar spoon of Cassis
1/2 part agave
Muddle the fruit with the agave, add the rest of the ingredients with ice and shake. Garnish with berries and/or salt.
