On Saturday, May 3 at 8 p.m. Best Buddies will be hosting a unique benefit concert at the Elevens in dowtown Northampton. Seven different bands will play throughout the night, including some of the area's best musicians. And each band will collaborate with Best Buddies participants from Berkshire Hills Music Academy in South Hadley. WRSI DJ and local celebrity Kelsey Flynn and Best Buddies participant Kate Bierfeldt will MC. This is a 21+ event, and tickets are available for $10 at Turn It Up! locations in Northampton and Easthampton, or by emailing westernmass@bestbuddies.org.

The concert is hosted by Kelsey Flynn and Kate Bierfeldt with Mark Mulchahy; Ryan Quinn of Los Hijos Unicos; Aric Biefanek of Northernly; Jason Bourgeois of the Novels and Bourgeois Heroes; Steve Schwills of Curious Buddies; Whistle Jacket; and Seth Glier and the Berkshire Hills Music Academy.

The musical performances will reveal and exemplify the magic that can result from friendship and cooperation between people with and without special needs. They will also showcase the abilities of people with special needs, who are too often seen only for their limitations. Attendees will enjoy a spectacular evening of music, and learn more about the work of Best Buddies Massachusetts (bestbuddiesma.org), which aims to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and increased social inclusion.
