MONTPELIER - Vermont state officials are set to get an update on state finances today.
The state Emergency Board, made up of legislative money committee chairmen and Gov. James Douglas, has set a meeting for this afternoon to hear from consulting economists for the Legislature and administration about what state revenues are expected to do in the coming months.
The board usually meets twice a year to get the revenue forecast, but has been meeting quarterly recently because of the current economic turmoil. Recent forecasts have accurately predicted big declines in state revenue.
