According to Vermont State Police, Frank C. Foster, 23, of Bellows Falls, was placed under arrest at about 9:30 on Thursday night after law enforcement received a call about a disturbance on Main Street.
Troopers responded to the area and spoke with several witnesses who said they observed an injured man standing in the middle of the road disrupting traffic.
After a short investigation, the troopers received word that Foster was seen in front of the Saxtons River Brewery.
When troopers arrived, Foster gave a false name to them.
He was placed in a cruiser and while being transported to the
Rockingham State Police Barracks, he kicked out a back window of the cruiser and attempted to escape.While moving Foster into a different cruiser, he assaulted two troopers by kicking them.
Upon arrival at the barracks, Foster was carried inside.
While being carried, he bit another trooper on the right leg.
Foster requested medical assistance and was brought to Springfield Hospital where he was treated before being transported to Southern State Correctional Facility.
He is scheduled to be in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at 12:30 p.m. today.
He has been cited with aggravated assault, unlawful mischief, attempting to escape and giving false information to a law enforcement officer.
