WATERBURY (AP) - Vermont is offering free surplus office equipment and furniture to communities, schools and nonprofit agencies that it needs to get rid of before work can start on the flooded Waterbury state office complex.

The items include desks, chairs, tables, bookcases, lamps, fans, air conditioners and office supplies.

Any inventory that municipalities, schools and nonprofits don't take will be available to the public at surplus property prices.

Municipalities and schools get first dibs on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Waterbury; nonprofits are invited on Friday. A tag sale for the public will be held on Saturday.

The process will be repeated two weeks later, with municipalities and schools invited on July 26th, nonprofits on the 27th and the public on the 28th.
