When they arrived on scene, they found a man who had been ejected from the vehicle after it struck a guardrail and a bridge abutment.
According to police, Dennis Sanborn, 45, of Springfield, was transported DHART to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medica Center in Lebanon, N.H., with incapacitating but non-life-threatening injuries.
Though the 16-year-old driving the Pontiac Aztec was wearing a seatbelt, but Sanborn was not.
When the vehicle struck the guardrail and bridge abutment, the forward passenger door was torn off and the skin was peeled from the read right passenger door.
In addition to the Vermont State Police, personnel from the Rockingham and Westminster fire departments, Bellows Falls Rescue and Golden Cross responded to the scene.
