MONTPELIER (AP) - Vermonters should soon know more about how well school kids in the state are mastering the fundamentals of science.

The state Department of Education says it's planning on Friday to release science test results from the New England Common Assessment Program.

Fourth-, eighth- and 11th-graders in Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island took the tests last spring.

The tests include multiple-choice and other questions in earth and space science, physical science, and life sciences.

The department plans to make test results available on its website.
