BURLINGTON (AP) - A four-week class at the University of Vermont is teaching entrepreneurship to students by having them make and sell products on campus.

Thirteen groups of students have set up tables to sell croissants, cookies, bracelets and other products. The goal of the class is to give students a working knowledge of what it means to run a business.

Each group has about 10 members, and each member is given $1. The students then pool that money as the stake in their business. Any profit is given to charity.

They're also required to perform community service.

Professor Kathleen Liang has been teaching the course since 2005. She says this year's class made the largest one-week profit ever, more than $1,000.
