BRATTLEBORO — A Dummerston man who pleaded guilty to the distribution and possession of child sex abuse images will spend the next nine years in a federal penitentiary.

According to documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont, prior to his release, Robert R.A. Page "should participate in and successfully complete intensive sex offender treatment."

Page was sentenced to 108 months on each of the charges, to be served concurrently.

In addition to his nine-year prison sentence, Page will be under supervision for 20 years upon release. He also received a five-to-15-year sentence in state court for pleading guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. The two sentences are running concurrently, meaning that Page will have served the state minimum while he is serving his nine-year federal sentence.

Page initially was arrested on federal charges. An investigation into the exchange of images online led agents to seize a laptop from his Dummerston home in April 2014.

Earlier this month, Page was ordered by the federal court to pay $5,000 in restitution to two of his victims.
